Welcome to my newsletter where I share my personal creative process. I hope to inspire you to pick up a pen, paint brush or spatula and create something spectacular.
Happy New Year! I hope yours was a banger. Mine was chill, I spent it eating dinner and playing board games with family. How did you spend yours?
Writing on Substack
New year, new me, new platform for my writing.
I’m moving my essays and this newsletter to Substack. Here’s why:
FOMO: My online writing community is mostly on Substack: The writing community is very important to me. It keeps me accountable. And it’s become natural for readers and authors to have conversations within Substack posts. My fellow writing friends are very active in engaging with each other through this feature. I would even love for YOU to engage with me and my writer friends through Substack. I can also recommend my writer friends through my Substack, and they can recommend me.
I want to grow my audience: Substack is like a social network and can recommend my writing to new readers. My writing will also be available on the Substack app (if you’re a mobile device reader and prefer this dedicated app over reading within your email).
If you’re curious to read an in-depth article on why it's beneficial for online writers to write on Substack, check THIS ONE out by Michael Dean.
My website (elizabethedwards.site) still exists, and always will remain as my permanent internet home for my art and writing archive.
Don’t worry, I’m not going to bombard you with emails from multiple platforms. Going forward, all emails will only come from Substack. These emails will contain:
New essays
New editions of this Newsletter, including:
Art Analysis: Mucha’s Moet & Chandon, White Star
I love a good Mucha lithograph.
Sandra Yvonne, one of the most beautiful writers I’ve ever read, said this was her favorite art analysis to date 🤩

MET Musings
New Year, New Essay.
Since I’ve been focusing on analyzing art on Twitter lately, I chose to write a personal piece on one of my favorite places in the world: the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Here’s a lil excerpt below:
Enduring long trips of stop-and-go-wobbly bus rides, trapped with peers and social anxiety, were worth it for a visit to the MET (the Metropolitan Museum of Art). I’d skip up the stairs as fast as I could, to reach the grand colonnaded entrance on top. I just wanted to get inside, get lost, and let my curiosity guide me as I wandered from painting to painting, gallery to gallery…
Thanks for reading, I hope you have a wonderful New Year!
Happy Creating, Elizabeth

Dinner and board games sounds like a BANGER of a new years. Which games did you play? I spent time reading through all my journals from the past year and writing a letter to my future self. So, also a banger?
Love this and ALL your work. Can't wait for the next issue 🤌🏻
