Ahhhh so cute!!!!!!!

Bode is sooooo cute. Gosh. And he is so much like me—we both get an infinite supply of energy when we're in the woods :)

You and Bode would’ve been besties I’m sure of it! You both love the woods! Although he would’ve scared off the wildlife without realizing haha 😬

This one of my favorite things I've read all year. So moving. Such a lovely tribute. You captured the essence of Bode. I wanted to meet him. I'm sad I didn't. But I'm so glad he became a shrimp for you many times and that he was so loved.

Also, this quote makes me think he is my spirit animal: "He’s very persistent in demanding Sophie’s attention. He shoves his big head into her face, and under her belly, sniffing and whining, trying to get her to play. But she runs away, to the closest human, in an attempt to be rescued. Bode will whine and cry the entire play date because he just wants her love."

It makes me happy to see you’ve honored Bode with this piece and proud you got it done to share. All the details really give us a heartfelt glimpse into what he was like through your eyes. The stories, pictures, and video really do make him seem like such a gentle goofy sweet angel bby.

The picture of him and Sophie also definitely made me laugh like an idiot for maybe longer than I should have?? That face. What a love-able big boi.

I think I’m always gonna be a tiny bit heartbroken I’ll never get to experience him in real life. But looking at the painting again, you really have captured so much aliveness and his spark. All things meaningful and worthwhile take time so I look forward to seeing that eventually in it’s final form :)

Thank you for always sharing your muse with us. I’ve never not smiled over anything Bode related you share, it might be impossible not to! I bet if Bode could have shared what you were like in his eyes, it would have been just as lovely as this.

Thank you! It feels good to have this done haha

That photo of them is so perfect, they look like 2 kids where one is willing to take a pic (Bode) and the other is like no don’t look at me I’m not photo ready (Sophie) ahhahaha

I’m heartbroken that you won’t get to meet him either but my hope is that this piece is the next big thing, along with the portrait, and I’m glad that you get to experience Bode through both of these alternatives (not sure if that made sense)

Thank you for reading about my big lol goofy muse :)

Sorry for your loss, Elizabeth. I’ve always said a person can’t know true love until they’ve loved a dog 😊

This is so sweet. The picture of Bode and Sophie looks like a selfie. There is something so special about witnessing an anxious dog let go and run like a maniac. It's obvious you gave him a great life :)

Oh no, the way my heart sank when I learned what happened.. So sorry to hear this Elizabeth but also so glad that you were able to share so many great memories with him. Bode sounds like a great bundle of joy, especially in mash potato form. The portrait is also really, really beautiful.
